About Associations on the Net
Associations on the Net seeks to collect official sites for associations and
organizations, typically those that are non-profit and membership centered.
AON can serve as a useful reference tool to find information about a
broad range of subjects, issues and interests represented by
associations.
Associations are divided into the following categories:
- Arts, Humanities and Culture;
- Business;
- Computers and the Internet;
- Entertainment and Leisure;
- Health and Medical Science;
- Industry;
- Labor;
- Law and Politics;
- Science and Technology; and
- Social Science.
The associations in this collection are mostly non-profit organizations
whose mission is to:
- disseminate news and research;
- create educational and professional opportunities;
- foster discussion and debate of issues;
- provide various services to members and/or non-members;
- influence policy and legislation; and
- promote contacts among members in their fields of interest.
